Famous designer Bill Gaytten, who had worked under John Galliano for years, took over the line after John was fired, and produced a collection which astounded the minds of fashionistas with its incoherent and inconsistent nature. On the other hand, this haute couture line didn’t suffer the same curse.

The line was beautifully elegant. Eye-catching sheer gowns closed the show. The line was made up of a mix of casual daytime shirts and skirts, along with dresses that looked as light as air. The one and only question left is: Exactly who will be permanently taking over for J.G.? Marc Jacobs? I keep my fingers crossed that this rumor is true.

I almost forgot, Lady Gaga did, on the other hand, show up in the opening video, singing “I am a Mugler woman; don’t fuck with me. Don’t fuck with Mugler. Welcome to Paris; we are Paris.” Perhaps it was written at the last minute. Not her best work, though as usual, it was not easy to take your eyes off her on the zillion inch screen.

The designer interpreted the human condition in the world, and attempted to incorporate these observations into her beautiful creations. She uses elements of Romanian folk creation too, and it is important to say that the process for making her work was completely manual. The materials Novotni used included felt, glittery synthetic threads, mate, cotton yarns and lace. Each and every piece of the material was in a different shade of black.

Her work explores the quality of black as being arrogant and modest simultaneously. This was done through not only combining different materials, textures and silhouettes, but also through dualism between glossy and matte and different tones of black. To carry out this work she collaborated with several designers.

While keeping the fashion house’s Parisian flair, the volume on the line was definitely dialed down for the new season with a muted color palette and far less extravagant designs. Nonetheless, models still displayed a romantic selection of most beautiful dresses which paid tribute to the feminine form in full.

Focusing on the print trend which is so prevalent in the haute couture these days, Bill said Style.com, ‘There is that thing about nannies,’ referring to his Mary Poppins inspired line.

A-line skirts dominated the runway, only adding to the cutest girly aesthetic of the collection. The line may have had more of a high-fashion feel than wearable. However, that sense of whimsy is what the Netherlands-based label is famous for.

In what may be the Rihanna’s most amazing shoot to date, she gets sultry and does the best Marilyn Monroe impression ever. Of course, the sexy pop star may not be the first celeb you would think to dress up like Kennedy’s mistress (and pull it off perfectly). However, at the same time she somehow manages to appear romantic, sleek and HOT.

The singer has courted controversy with several provocative music videos, including being tied up and taped to the wall with cling-film in the video to her hit “S&M.” However, in a Vogue interview, Rihanna claims: “That is not me. Styled by Sophia Neophitou, the model wears wardrobe entirely of Louis Vuitton. Her extravagant make-up by Ralph Sicilano, along with slicked back hair by Akinora Shirakawa creates the right canvas for artist’s cartoonish clowns, bubbles and logs.

Stylist Sophia Neophitou presented leathery looks with feathery accents and topped them off with iconic accessories such as the monogrammed purse. This wildly cartoonish shoot would appear conservative and nothing-out-of-the-ordinary if it were not for the painted on photos of clownish proportions. However, the extra pop will help this pictorial stand out in the high-fashion crowd.

A quite eye-catching, feathered accessory was the star of the show. This feral couture piece was definitely something to see and added extra flair to the line. Some of the gowns were accompanied by capes too, creating a very girly, but contemporary look.

All in all, this line came across as simple and sleek – just great for a girls’ night out. The Ohne Titel’s ability to combine haute couture aesthetics and simple, easy to wear outfits will definitely be remembered all the way until next year’s New York Fashion Week.

The feature supports the ongoing fall theme which lace, leather and a touch of hillbilly will rule the Fall’s haute couture scene. Between a sensual writhing pose on a wooden floor, hanging out on haystacks and relaxing in a lace bodysuit, the photographer does a great work at making the countryside scenery seem like Mother Earth’s catwalk.

Voodoo shit aside, this line is definitely one-of-a-kind, which will undeniably make each and every piece popular. Comprised of earrings, brooches, necklaces, bracelets and rings, the Bottega Veneta haute couture accessory line will keep an eye out for you in so many bizarre ways.
